Admission to the professional program (the B.F.A.) and liberal arts based program (the B.A. in Art History) is processed through the UConn Admissions Office. UConn Undergraduate Admissions is the responsible agency for the official acceptance of all students (freshman and transfer) and it reviews the academic credentials of each applicant. All applicants for the B.A. and B.F.A. programs must meet the academic requirements of the university. B.F.A. applicants also must present a portfolio of original artwork showing promise and potential for advancement in the visual arts. The review for the M.F.A. program relies primarily on the slide portfolio submitted, with attention given to other credentials, such as academic scores and letters of recommendation. Personal interviews are not required; however, some students chose to tour the facilities and to meet with a person who specializes in their area of interest.
