MFA Transfer
Opportunities for the transfer of credit are limited. The Graduate School bulletin/catalog states that credit toward the minimum requirements for the degree normally is not accepted in transfer from other institutions. An MFA student may, exceptionally and with departmental and graduate school approval, satisfy a maximum of 20 percent of required course work through transfer credit. All transfer credits must be of “B” quality work or better as documented by an official transcript from an accredited institution. Transfer credits must represent graduate degree level work, must have been begun within six years prior to the completion of all requirements for the present degree, and must not have been used toward a degree elsewhere awarded or to be awarded. A maximum of nine credits earned at the University of Connecticut prior to matriculation may be counted toward degree requirements. Such courses must have been taken less than five years prior to matriculation.
